Workplace Debauchery
Every year a few weeks before Christmas my office has a door decorating contest. Every department that wants to participate submits their name and chooses a door in the offices to decorate. This year one representative picked out a name of a country from a box and then decorate their door based on winter holidays celebrated in that country. I was that representative and I was hoping oh so much for any country with snow. I had so many ideas, already bought some cotton and silver sparkles and I ended up pulling out - GUYANA!! WTF? At first I was devastated, I mean it is in South America so there is no snow, none, not even a snowflake. All they have are palm trees and sunshine - oh the horror!! What they DO have is a very festive holiday season, complete with masquerades, steel drum bands, a cow character, presents and tons of animals. And apparently they even have Father Christmas aka SANTA!!!
So two of my coworkers and I spent 2 days and $25 maximum budget allowed] decorating the door and it looks AWESOME! * pats self on back *
The whole door! We used the faces of everyone who works here to make it more funny.

The dental floss and flag garland!

Presents under the palm trees

One of my coworkers as a monkey. I'd show you guys the others, but I did not ask their permission...sorry

Same coworker, different animal!!

Do any of you do festive things like that at work? Let me know! And send pics =)
P.S. there is a prize for best door...one department already went out of the running, so we have a shot hahah... judges will come around on Monday and winners will be announced on the 18th during holiday lunch...I hope we win!!

Your office sounds like such a fun place to work at!!
Back when I worked in the corporate world we used to have one fabulous bash every yr for the holidays - way too many co-workers getting obscenely drunk - hilarious!
ps - I am so glad you & the boy had a great convo re: the cheating post. It's so interesting to hear a guy's perspective when it comes to relationship issues like these - so happy he was able to share his opinion!!
XOXO
